I recently finished this cross stitch pattern, just in time for fall.
I love fall. It is my favorite season. I like cross stitching and feel like it’s an easy way to transform pixels into something tangible.
This project was 12839 stitches and took 95 hours.
Spring
Well it definitely feels like spring lately. It’s 50 degrees out right now. Most of the snow has melted, besides a few shady patches. It’s kinda nice knowing that warmer weather is on the way.
Cron job post
This is a test post. I’m testing to see if the cron job I setup to auto
publish these posts is working.
Airplane Cancel
Had a bit of surprise today on our way to the airport. As soon as I left
the house I got a message that the first leg of our flight was canceled.
This was due to some weather at there layover destination. A bit of
a scramble to reschedule a flight. First off rescheduled for later in the
day, which meant getting in later than planned. Then found a new flight
with a different airline that was direct and would get in sooner than the
orignal flight. It all worked out in the end.
It’s a little bit funny as this is the second time this has happened. Our
return flight from Spring Break in Florida was also canceled due to
weather. Ended up driving instead, it was quite the adventure.
Mechanical Keyboard Repair
I had to take apart my homemade mechanical keyboard and replace 3 keys that stopped working.
The 1, 2, and 4 keys stopped working.
Now it’s all fixed up and working perfectly again.
Its been awhile
Hi, I wanted to say hello.
It has been quite sometime since my last post, and I wanted to test out a new post.
Pile of Shame
I have a lot of painting to do.
Ever since my new 3dprinter arrived my pile of shame has been growing…
and growing…
and growing.
Here’s my box of shame,
and my shelf of shame.
A gaggle of skeletons waiting to be painted.
Soul wars generals primed and ready to be painted.
So many miniatures to paint, so little time.
Santa Minature
I started painting this dwarf Santa before Christmas, but I didn’t get him
done until today.
Miniature Painting: Molly Regis
I finished painting my latest miniature.
This is Molly Regis.
She is the second in command of the Crimson Rogues. A band of merry folk
who reallocate wealth all along this side of the black mountains.
Starting out with the Amethyst game engine.
Recently I started taking a look at the Amethyst game engine.
What intrigues me most about Amethyst is that it’s programming
language is rust.
Rust has also piqued my interest lately. I’ve been working mostly in
C/C++ to make my video games. Using a homegrown game engine I created that
mimics unity’s Entity/Component patterns. While it’s fun knowing the in’s
and out’s of my engine completely. Lately I’ve found I was also spending
a good amount of time fighting pointers and chasing down core dumps.
Hopefully Rust should help alleviate these issues, so I can spend more
time on the game. Rusts website: https://www.rust-lang.org/
With my new interest in Rust, I was looking for a game engine in Rust.
I found Amethyst. https://amethyst.rs/ I just started in Amethyst, and
I’m only half way through their Pong tutorial, but so far I’m liking it.
Of course being new to Rust and to Amethyst, I’m not sure I understand
everything that’s going on yet, but it’s fun.
